For 25 years, Master Chef Juan Mujica has prepared creative and delicious dishes in the Westchester County area in New York. Originally from Peru where gastronomy is considered top of the line in the food industry, he came to the United States at the young age of 17 to enjoy diverse cuisines and restaurant options that were available. Because of this, his interest and passion for cooking was born.

The beginning

1991

He started his first job in the restaurant industry as a kitchen helper. The restaurant owner noticed his outstanding ability to present dishes and quickly promoted him to salad person or as the French call it Gourmandière. Chef Mujica assisted in preparing dishes and placed finishing touches before delivering it to the tables.

The best in class

April 1992

Diner’s at this restaurant praised him for the improvement of taste of the dishes and the quality had increased after his promotion.

Chef Mujica left this job to attend the Culinary Institute of America. There he studied American, Italian and Latino cuisine. He graduated top of his class in 1992 with a degree in Culinary Arts.

Golf and cooking

1995

After graduation, Chef Mujica worked for a few Italian Restaurants and shortly after took on a position as assistant manager in a golf country club. At the country club he consulted the Attending Chef to upgrade his current kitchen and add additional kitchen help.

The Best in Westchester.

2013

After years of hard work and dedication, Chef Mujica accepted the position of Chef Manager to an exclusive Sports Bar & Restaurant where for 4 consecutive years was awarded The Best Sports Bar & Restaurant in Westchester County.

Casita Andina

2023

Chef Juan Mujica relocates to the sunshine state  and in 2023 Casita Andina is born, a take out restaurant with peruvian flavors rising to the top of the list as best restaurants in South Florida.
